Will Apple release a new MacBook?

Will Apple release a new MacBook?

Apple re-introduced the MacBook in 2015 and continued to sell it for many years but never cared to upgrade it (except spec bumps) . The company had originally sold a laptop under the same brand in the mid 2000s, however stopped selling it a few years down the line.

Similarly, the company has killed the MacBook once again. The only laptops that Apple sells at the moment are the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air. Of course, there’s two versions of the MacBook Pro now – the newly launched 16” MacBook Pro and the old 13” MacBook Pro.

Will Apple release a new MacBook?

So the question now is will Apple re-introduce the “MacBook” once again like it did in 2015? Well, it definitely can’t be ruled out as the MacBook laptop has always been the company’s test machine and the MacBook Air & MacBook Pro have been the company’s main mass-selling machines.

A-series chips?

For a long time, it has been rumoured that Apple is working on bringing its own in-house made A-series chips to the Mac line. If Apple ever decides to bring them to the market, it would be sensible for the company to first try them out with one machine and if it works, then the company could move to introducing its chips on all Macs.

The MacBook would be the perfect machine for testing the latest innovative tech Apple is working on without causing major problems to its regular customers. The butterfly keyboard was first introduced on the 2015 MacBook before being rolled out on the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air.

The company was certainly testing out the keyboard on the 2015 MacBook, however it did not see the problems the keyboard suffered from and introduced the same on the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air. If Apple can be a little more focussed on testing out features on an experimental laptop before bringing them to its important machines, we could expect some real new nifty tech.
