Social media platform Twitter has announced that Live Photos is now supported, which means you can now upload them as GIFs and post them without needing any special tools or apps.
The Live Photos feature was first introduced in 2015 when the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus launched. Sadly, most social networks did not take to the technology and do not let the photos play when uploaded to Twitter, Facebook, and others.

Taking a picture with the Live Photo enabled turns the photo into a mini movie that’s similar to a GIF. When sent to another supported iPhone device the photo plays out as intended. Before, you had to use an app to turn them into videos and GIFs for them to behave as intended.
Now, uploading a Live Photo automatically changes it to a GIF which shows the animation. Users simply need to choose the ‘Live Photo’ option in the Twitter app and hit Send.
