Imagine having a single Netflix profile to share between your family members. It’s not a good thought. Netflix allows users to have their own profiles to offer better curation and give better recommendations. However, Apple TV app in tvOS has been one of the frustrating cases by not offering multi-user support. However, the case changes today with the release of tvOS 13 which adds multi-user support.

The home screen of tvOS 13 has also been tweaked with a new Control Center for quick access to search, time & date, profile information, Picture in Picture (PiP) mode, and a Now Playing section. The picture in picture (PiP) is one of the most useful features as it allows users to keep watching the video without closing the app and go tweak the settings at the same time or check a different app.

The multi-user support will allow each member of the family to have their own search history and watching history. It will also help Apple give better recommendations based on the viewing activity. The layout of titles will also be adjusted based on the profile user’s activity.

Apple Arcade: The new way to game

Xbox Apple Arcade

tvOS 13 also bring Apple Arcade to the TV – the company’s new venture into gaming with a solid offering. Apple Arcade is a $4.99 monthly subscription service which allows users to play all the games on the service. The company has many more Apple Arcade exclusive titles coming in the near future but at present, the company promises 70 exclusive titles. Also, the company added support of Sony Playstation DualShock 4 and Xbox Wireless controllers. So, Apple TV users can now connect their controllers and enjoy a much experience compared to the Apple TV remote.

The Apple Arcade is a gaming subscription which works on iOS, iPadOS, Mac, Apple TV. A single subscription works across all the devices (by using the same Apple ID).
