Upcoming Xperia phone could beat Apple’s iPhone 11 in terms of performance

Upcoming Xperia phone could beat Apple’s iPhone 11 in terms of performance

Sony has been struggling to get its Xperia brand up and running. For a few years, the Xperia phones actually performed pretty well in countries like India, the UK, and more. However, with ever growing budget smartphones and “Samsung & Apple” ruling the premium segment of the market, Xperia has fallen behind.

If Sony could get its machines running quickly and start pushing its upcoming Xperia phone soon before the release of other Android flagships, it could bank on something worthy. According to Androplus, a Japanese news blog, Sony recently benchmarked its upcoming phone running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 chipset.

High benchmark scores

The big news here is that, the benchmark scores of the Snapdragon 865 chip are apparently higher than that of Apple’s A13 chip. The Cupertino company has for a long time prided itself for it blazing fast processors but if the reports are true then Xperia 1 could bank on Qualcomm’s efforts to release the “first phone to combat Apple’s A-series chips”.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip will supposedly offer a high increase in performance over the current generation Snapdragon 855 chip. The chip will reportedly also support 5G which is the future and is expected to be the buzzword of 2020 as network providers start promoting the future.

Apple’s A13 Bionic chip is one of the most efficient chips in the industry while also being the fastest. The company is known for tweaking the chipset according to its requirements on the iPhone and the iPad. In the Android world, however there is no such deep collaboration between smartphone manufacturers and chip makers, so we expect Apple to still have an upper hand in this case.

Will the upcoming Sony Xperia smartphone beat Apple at its own game? Its yet to be seen if it will actually be a worthy contender
