A report from ETNews Korea says that future iPhones may be launched in a 5.4 inch and 6.7 inch model and have thinner OLED screens in 2020.
In the article, there was a statement that the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Pro will have the Y-OCTA technology, which allows the manufacturers to lay the touchscreen circuit directly to the OLED panel without needing a separate layer, which results in lower costs and thinner displays.
The owner of the technology, Samsung, may supply Apple for its 6.7 inch and 5.4 inch iPhone. In the meantime, the 6.1 inch model may assume the traditional display which will be provided by Samsung or LG.
Apple is expected to go big in 2020, with the iPhones to have 5G networking support, a metal frame, new phone sizes, 6GB of memory and 3D sensing on the rear end. The report that Apple will be releasing the 2020 iPhone in 6.7, 6.1 and 5.7 inch models is confirmed by Ming Chi Kuo and other analysts.
