The iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max were released almost a year ago. They were Apple’s premium flagship phones of 2019, with the iPhone XR being the “everyone’s phone”. The iPhone XS was a very subtle update over the iPhone X with a newer processor, improved camera performance and the addition of eSIM support for working of dual-sim.

At present, Apple is offering various iPhones in various price brackets. The iPhone 8 for $450, the iPhone XR for $599, the iPhone 11 for $699, and the iPhone 11 Pro starts at $999. Which price bracket does the iPhone XS fit in? Worth noting here is that Apple has officially stopped selling the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max.

iPhone XS has the best camera

The iPhone XS is more than a year old phone, so if you badly want to buy the iPhone XS, we suggest you buy one only if it is less than $600. The biggest rivals to the iPhone XS are the iPhone XR and the iPhone 11 – both offer a far better battery backup.

Battery backup or Killer screen?

All the iPhones from iPhone 6S to the iPhone XS suffered from bad battery backup for various reasons. One of the reasons we have found out recently was because of 3D Touch. With the iPhone 11 Pro, Apple killed 3D Touch in favour of saving space for a larger battery. So yes, the iPhone XS does not have the best battery in the market whereas the iPhone XS Max does a better job thanks to its larger size.

The one thing that makes the iPhone XS trump the iPhone XR and the iPhone 11 is the screen. The iPhone XR and the iPhone 11 use an LCD display with a resolution less than 1080p (FHD) but the quality of the display is so good that it’s difficult to find fault with it. However, if you are a display purist who likes sharp content, then the iPhone XS makes up for a good phone.

The iPhone XS can be found on the internet for around $600, however we suggest you to not spend more than $600 and if you are looking at the refurbished/used market, then you could get it for less than $500.
