iPhone users may finally get dual bluetooth support when they get the iPhone 11. A Macotakara report has mentioned that the newest iPhone may have dual Bluetooth output, which allows two individuals to start “sharing” music from two different AirPods simultaneously.
Technically, current iPhone software allows multiple Bluetooth devices to be connected, but the audio can only go out one of them. Some Android devices already have this capability but usually suffer from synchronization issues.
Aside from dual Bluetooth audio, the iPhone 11 is expected to be released with bilateral wireless charging. In this feature, iPhone users can charge their AirPods by positioning the case on the back of the iPhone, drawing power from the phone battery.
The newest iPhone lineup is expected to be announced come fall season, presumably in September. To enable Dual Bluetooth Audio, Bluetooth 5.0 is required, which may roll out to older phone models such as the iPhone XS, XR, the iPhone X and 8 via software update.
