Apple has allowed cable companies Charter and Comcast to sell iPhones as part of their service plans, but in doing so they’re required to sell Apple TVs and iPads as well.
In an effort to compete with larger networks, Comcast and Charter are looking to sell iPhones. Apple agreed, but in the contract the two brands are to sell other Apple devices.
Right now Comcast is offering the 6th-gen iPad with cellular connectivity for $422.99, and the 10.5-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air and the 7.9-inch iPad Mini are available as well. The company is providing a $15 monthly credit on their bill for any iPad device bought.
For Charter, they’re offering the Apple TV for $7.50 each month for 2 years, or equal to the retail price of the device at $180. It’s the same price as a Charter set top box, but those who opted for Apple TV can keep it when the contract expires.
