Apple Music has partnered up with Rothco and Warner Music UK to produce ‘Saylists’ a collection of Apple Music playlists designed with speech therapy in mind.
‘Saylists’ caters towards the young audience and has songs that repeat sounds that may be difficult to pronounce for people with SSD, or speech to sound disorder.
With Rothco’s proprietary algorithm Apple’s music catalog was scoured for lyrics that are usually used in speech training. Songs such as ‘Right Here, Right Now’ by Fatboy Slim, ‘Good as Hell’ by Lizzo and ‘Don’t Start Now’ by Dua Lipa have made it to the playlists.
MusicWeek says the program can help improve speech therapy, as certain helpful phrases, words and syllables are mentioned over and over throughout the song’s duration. The ten current ‘Saylists’ combine to have 173 tracks, with more being added in the near future.
‘Saylists’ is available in the UK, but the feature may appear in other regions.
