Apple has recently filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Corellium, stating that the company has copied its iPad and iPhone operating systems without permission and selling it for profit.
The Cupertino-based firm declared that Corellium was purposefully selling the OSes for profit and not for offering a research tool for people trying to find vulnerabilities in the system. Moreover, Apple says that new versions are copied and that Corellium does not require its user base to report the flaws to Apple.
Furthermore, Apple accuses Corellium of marketing their goods to anyone who wants it, including commercial enterprises and foreign governments. The firm is moving to have a federal judge stop the distribution immediately. In addition, Apple has filed for a court order to have Corellium send out customer notifications that the company has violated Apple’s rights, destroy goods that violate Apple copyright and compensation with cash.
The case, titled Apple Inc v Corellium LLC, I9-81160 has been filed in West Palm Beach, FL.
