An Apple employee finds himself in hot water after getting caught sending a private photo coming from a customer’s iPhone to himself.
Gloria Fuentes posted on Facebook her experience at the Valley Plaza Mall Apple Store. She had her iPhone sent in for screen repairs, but discovered that one of her stored photos was sent as a text to an unknown number. Fuentes confronted the Apple Store manager and the employee, who denied the claim.
Fuentes went on and said that the photo had her home location geo-tagged, which scared her. Moreover, the image was about a year old which means the employee rifled through her personal stuff to discover the file.
Apple launched an investigation internally and declared that the employee has been terminated. A statement was sent by the Cupertino-based company, thanking Fuentes for bringing the incident to their attention. The Bakersfield Police Department is also holding an investigation regarding the matter.
