Tim Cook, CEO of Apple has declared his support for DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in an interview with ABC News.
Cook mentioned that he’s focused on DACA not just because there are 400-plus employees in Apple on DACA, but also for all the individuals who are on the program.
In October, the CEO signed a brief that implored the Supreme Court to keep DACA and protect those who were affected by the program. Cook even said he will fight for DACA until his ‘toes point up’ as these people embody the American spirit.
In the interview, Cook also spoke on the topic of privacy, saying that Apple is not out to collect all the consumer’s data and knowing all the personal details of our lives. The CEO iterated that he’s worried that in today’s world, nothing is private and freedom of expression just ‘evaporates’.
