Apple TV+ to cost $1.40 per month in India

TV Adaptation of 'The Mosquito Coast' to Appear on Apple TV+

Apple is set to enter the video streaming service business with its Apple TV+ offering very soon. The Indian customers are in for a treat with the upcoming service as it will cost just $1.40 (USD) per month in the country. Whereas, the service will cost $4.99 per month in the US which is more than three times the pricing of the service in India.

Apple TV+ at the launch will offer a very limited catalogue with its own offerings. Apple original show like The Morning Show starring Jennifer Aniston & Reese Witherspoon, See starring Jason Momoa (the Aquaman hero), a space show named For All Mankind, The Elephant Queen, and Dickinson will be available to stream at the launch

Betting big on Apple Originals

Apple TV+ to cost $1.40 per month in India

The video streaming service will only work on Apple devices – the iPhone, the iPad, the Mac, the Apple TV, and the iPod at launch. However, the company is also reportedly working on bringing the service to Samsung TVs and many other platforms. For Apple to succeed at the video streaming business, it will have to be on all platforms regardless of its likeness or hatred towards them.

In comparison with Netflix which costs Rs. 500 (4.23 USD) per month, the Apple TV+ offering is extremely cheap. Nonetheless, Netflix does offer a lot more content – maybe a gazillion times more content. But Apple does have a long-term plan to get people hooked to its platform – it plans to offer one year free Apple TV+ subscription with every single Apple device purchase.

Apple is betting on big guns of the Hollywood to skyrocket its video streaming service. The company is also planning to release its original movies in the theatre for a few weeks before releasing them on its platform.

In India, the Apple Music plans also costs Rs. 99 (1.40 USD) and if Apple could create a bundle for Apple Music and Apple TV+, it would be a jolly ride for its customers.
