Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO took to Twitter after the second mass shooting incident broke out within 24 hours of each other in the U.S. Cook thanked first responders for their heroic efforts, then offered condolences to the families of the victims. Cook also mentioned that it was time for people to stop pointing fingers and cooperate to end the violence that’s happening in the country.
The first incident happened in El Paso, Texas, where a gunman opened fire at a shopping mall, killing 20 and injuring 26. The second was in Dayton, Ohio, where a shooter opened fire at an establishment, killing 9 and injuring 27 others.
Cook’s tweet has been liked 11.9 thousand times, retweeted 2.7 thousand times and had 310 comments within the hour of posting. The CEO has regularly tweeted his condolences on accidents and victims of shooting; just last week, he expressed his sympathies to victims of the Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting.
