Maybe it’s the fact that so much of the iPhone 4 is made from glass, or that even putting a Bumper case on doesn’t seem to keep one safe after three accidental drops, but we’re thinking that Wrapsol’s Ultra Drop + Scratch Protection for iPhone 4 ($30) is going to have a real hard time helping to “protect even from drop damage.” But this film kit, complete with front, rear, and side film, promises just that — you moisten it, apply it, and use an included squeegee to work the bubbles out of it, giving the smaller bubbles a day to resolve themselves. After that, the device is supposed to be protected.
Updated March 2011: Wrapsol subsequently sent us Clean for iPhone 4 ($15), an antiglare screen-only film that uses a dry application method and claims to automatically release air bubbles within 24 hours. It comes with a thick cardboard squeegee and microfiber towelette.
Updated August 2011: Wrapsol has updated Ultra with its new “handles” system that is supposed to make installation easier; the films have pieces that extend past the borders. The sets still retail for the same prices.
