Sold in three packs, Power Support’s new Crystal Jackets for the second-generation iPod shuffle are largely like other clear hard plastic protectors we’ve seen, differing only in a few specifics: they’re a little thinner, each with a tiny eyelet for attachment to a lanyard or wrist strap (neither included), and the colors are mature rather than flashy. One is clear, one’s transparent pink, and one’s transparent black (smoke).
Unlike competitors, Power Support also includes a sheet of clear protective film for the shuffle’s rear clip; that’s all the back protection you get. As of press time, they’re not yet available on the company’s U.S.
web site, but were on sale at Macworld Expo, and are already available in Japan for around $14.
