Sent so late in their respective products’ life cycles that one model is nearing discontinuation and the other is already dead, Nest Cases’ same-named cases for the iPhone 3G/3GS and iPod touch 2G/3G ($20 each) are glossy plastic shells that differ in two ways: sizing and padding. The iPhone 3G/3GS version is shipped with four foam pads that you’re supposed to install yourself, while the smaller iPod touch 2G/3G case has thin dots pre-installed in its corners.
Otherwise, they’re very similar, using black, white, or pink hard plastic that can separate to become a landscape or portrait orientation stand. Notably, you need to fully remove the case from the iPhone or iPod to use the stand, as contrasted with designs that have flip-out stands (and more protection) built in.
We’re not giving either version a full text or photographic preview because they’re so late in arriving and relatively underwhelming compared to other cases we’ve covered; the developer is apparently planning iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G version debuts that will similarly take place only months before Apple introduces new devices to replace them. Hopefully it’ll be able to break the late-to-market cycle at some point in the near future.
