First Look: Moshi iVisor AG / XT for iPad and iPhone 4

First Look: Moshi iVisor AG / XT for iPad and iPhone 4

Unlike companies that have released static cling screen protectors for Apple’s devices over the years, Moshi has followed a different path with its iVisor series of film solutions: it promises 100% bubble-free application by using a combination of opaque bezel coverage and sticky rubber to avoid actually sticking the film to the iPad’s or iPhone 4’s display. Peel off the backing on iVisor and you’ll find that there’s a residue-free adhesive rubber on the edges of the film, which you align to the device’s face, stick on, and then use right away.

Because only the edges make full contact with the iPad’s or iPhone’s glass face, there’s no need to work air bubbles out of the film, and you can peel iVisor off to stick on its original backing when you don’t want the coverage — all you need to do is avoid creases in the thin layer of clear plastic. iVisor AG is anti-glare for the iPad ($30) or iPhone 4 ($20), and XT is solely for the iPad ($30) and crystal clear; the iPhone 4 version includes both front and rear protection, while the iPad one has only a front protector.

Each version includes a microfiber cloth to help you clean the glass before application.
