As one of several new Quattro series cases from Ivyskin, two of which we’re previewing today, Quattro-T1 ($35) seems like an attempt to ape the sophisticated rubber cases from iSkin, with semi-impressive results. Except for an all-black version, the molded base case uses two different colors of rubber, one—white, black, blue, or red—surrounding the screen, the other for the rest of the case, and nicely covers literally all of the device’s controls save for the screen; that’s covered with included protective film.
Oddly, the case includes two clear, detachable proximity sensor area covers, and two clear, detachable Apple logo covers that are made to fit holes in the case’s front and back. The rubber is molded to hold these pieces in place, but they looked a bit odd right out of the package, and their fit is only decent, not spectacular.
We’re guessing that the extra parts are included for when you lose the originals. Flip-open headphone port and Dock Connector covers are found on the case’s top and bottom, with the iPhone 3G’s two speakers and microphone as the only completely exposed elements once the case is fully assembled.
