Review: DODOcase Maritime Collection Multi-Angle Case for iPad Air 2

Review: DODOcase Maritime Collection Multi-Angle Case for iPad Air 2

DODOcase has recently introduced its Maritime Collection for iPad Air 2. There are two different case styles in the collection — the Original protective case ($80), and a Multi-Angle DODOcase ($95). We received the latter, which features a folding back cover which can be placed at one of three pre-set angles. The iPad Air 2 is held in place by a solid bamboo tray.

Though the volume controls are left exposed, there’s actually a small bamboo button that covers the sleep/wake button, and the cover successfully activates the iPad’s sleep/wake function, as well. The Maritime Collection comes in a variety of nautical-themed designs. It’s worth noting that these Maritime cases are functionally the same as the company’s classic iPad Air 2 cases, which are $15 cheaper.

We’re partial to nautical themes, so the design of DODOcase’s Maritime Collection strikes us as both comforting and classy. We like the way the iPad fits securely into the case, though it does add a bit of thickness.

The multi-angle stand works well using magnets, though its angles are somewhat limited. More magnets allow the case to easily return to its original orientation, and a strap keeps the cover shut when the iPad isn’t in use.

DODOcase’s Maritime Collection multi-angle case feels like a sturdy, expensive option for protecting your iPad Air 2 — and it is. Users looking for any simple, decent folio will have a number of other, cheaper options, but this premium book bound case is aimed at a different crowd. Those buyers will appreciate the case’s look and feel, and DODOcase’s attention to detail.
