As contrasted with the LostDog Slim Case Stand we looked at yesterday, Bluetrek’s sort of oddly-named LostDog Genuine Leather Pouch for iPad ($90) is considerably more expensive — possibly prohibitively so — but also a nicer design. The outside mixes relatively small stripes of leather with what the company calls “fiber felt” exterior material and a “camouflage nylon” interior, the latter with colorful dog images that vaguely match the LostDog theme.
Three business card pockets and a document pocket on the inner left side provide space to hold an included microfiber and leather screen cleaning cloth, while the right inner side has a substantially protective first-generation iPad holder built in. Elastic and a flap keep the folio-style design closed.
While we’re not sure that we’d drop $90 for a folio-style design with relatively modest quantities of leather, we really like the look and feel of the Genuine Leather Pouch’s outside; fans of French artist Aurele’s LostDog series, or just dog fans in general, might be willing to pay the premium here. A yellow felt and clear plastic bag with a zipper comes with the Pouch to serve as reusable packaging.
