Clear plastic cases for the iPod have become predictable and a bit boring, but Agent18’s VideoShield Kit – as distinguished from its earlier VideoShield (iLounge rating: B+) is a major exception.
The case is designed to be compatible with every bottom mounting iPod accessory, and though it sacrifices some bottom protection in the process, Agent18 includes a Universal Dock Adapter that lets the case fit in any Universal Dock-compatible accessory. There are also a detachable, multi-angle video stand and a hard core metal belt clip in the package, both amongst the most impressive that we’ve seen.
If you need additional details on the VideoShield’s core case, see our prior review, but this kit improves enough upon the prior offering – especially with the included Dock Adapter – to merit a higher rating, even though its price is higher as well. Though it could benefit from a bit more protectiveness, this is one of the best clear plastic iPod cases we’ve seen overall.
