Apple is planning to ship its next version of the iPhone in September, according to a new report.
Citing three people with direct knowledge of the company’s supply chain, Reuters reports that production on the new iPhone will start in July or August and that it will look largely similar to the iPhone 4.
The report also claims it will have a faster processor, most likely the dual-core A5 that debuted in the iPad 2, and pegs Largan Precision as a camera module maker—likely for the front-facing camera, as Sony is widely believed to be supplying an eight-megapixel sensor for the rear—Wintek as a touchscreen panel supplier, and Foxconn as the external case maker for the new model.
