A new exploit affecting the iPhone and iPod touch’s MobileSafari browser has been discovered, according to reports. The memory exploit appears to affect all iPhone and iPod touch units with firmware version 1.0.2 or later, and is caused by browsing to a site containing malicious code.
The code triggers a memory-exhausting script, which causes the iPhone or iPod touch to crash. Currently, the exploit does not appear to be anything more than a potential nuisance, and it the problem can be avoided altogether by disabling JavaScript on the device.
