Apple has released Remote 1.1.1, the latest version of its iTunes and Apple TV remote application for iPhone and iPod touch. According to the release notes, version 1.1.1 offers improved connection reliability to iTunes and the Apple TV, addresses issues with Apple TV On-the-Go playlists, and correctly displays artwork in the Apple TV Now Playing screen. Remote 1.1.1 is available now as a free download from the App Store.
According to an Orange advertisement posted by AppleInsider, the French iPhone carrier plans on offering the 8GB iPhone 3G for as low as 99€ (roughly $126) as part of a Christmas promo.
The flyer indicates that the promotion will run from November 13 through January 14, although it does not appear to specify which the minimum rate plan the customer will need to sign up for in order to receive the discount. Pricing for the 16GB model is not shown in the ad, although a separate report suggests it may be offered for as little as 129€, or roughly $165.
Gravity Applications has released its new Searchlight application for the iPhone and iPod touch. The new application works in concert with the company’s Searchlight Mac application to allow users to search and access their files remotely.
Features include the ability to access complete email archives stored on the Mac, along with the ability to email files stored on the computer to the user or other contacts directly from the application. Searchlight is available now as a free download from the App Store.
Apple has opened its official Online Store in the Philippines, offering a complete range of iPods, Apple TVs, Mac computers, and related accessories. To celebrate the store’s opening, Apple is giving away a free limited-edition T-Shirt with any new Mac or iPod purchased before November 24.
