Apple has revealed that five million songs by The Beatles have been sold on the iTunes Store since the band’s catalog debuted in November. The Loop reports that one million albums have also been sold, with Abbey Road representing the best-selling album in the U.S., and “Here Comes the Sun” the top-selling song.
Notably, these numbers suggest that sales of The Beatles’ music on iTunes slowed considerably after the first week, during which more than 450,000 albums and more than two million individual songs were sold. Apple has exclusive digital rights for The Beatles’ catalog into this year, although a precise exclusivity end date has not been announced.
