Peapod Labs is back with another alphabet app — this time, it’s ABC Actions ($3). Unlike prior noun-focused editions, the latest ABC app concentrates on teaching children verbs and action words. More than 150 photos, 100 videos, 50 interactive games, and 50 action words are featured within the interactive app.
Delivery Status touch ($5), a package tracking app from Junecloud, recently updated to version 5.0.
The app has been redesigned for iOS 7, and with the redesign comes a host of new features, including background notifications, calendar support, search, archive, AirDrop sharing, text and iMessage sharing, iCloud sync, and much more. Barcode scanning has improved, and 1Password can be integrated for easy password access. Delivery Status touch supports dozens of delivery services, including UPS, FedEx, USPS, and more.
Obvious Engineering’s Seene (free) app lets users take 3-D photos with cameras on the iPhone 4S or higher. Users follow an onscreen guide to capture images, which are then presented in 3-D.
Our editors have mixed feelings on whether the app is practical or enjoyable given the interface, but the results are definitely unique.
Tweetbot 3 for Twitter for iPhone and iPod touch has been redesigned from the ground up as a new app, which means Tapbots is charging $3 again, even if you have the older Tweetbot app. We think the upgrade is worthwhile: in addition to a clean new interface that’s clearly iOS 7-inspired, the new Tweetbot features mute filters, native push notifications, and the ability to sync features between iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The app also supports services such as Pocket, Instapaper, Readability, CloudApp, Droplr, and more.
