Apple will soon allow independent environmental reviews of at least two of its suppliers’ factories in China, according to a new report.
Citing Ma Jun, founder of the Institute of Public & Environmental Affairs, USA Today reports that Apple agreed to the reviews in late January, following the release of reports documenting hazardous-waste leaks and the use of toxic chemicals at suspected Apple suppliers.
The reviews could begin as soon as March, and may expand to include more than just two factories.
