Apple releases iOS 10, watchOS 3 and tvOS 10

As announced last week, Apple has released iOS 10, its latest operating system for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The update should now be available for over-the-air installation via Settings, General, Software Update, or by connecting to iTunes and using the Check for Updates option.

Apple releases iOS 10, watchOS 3 and tvOS 10

The iOS 10 public release includes the new “Raise to Wake” feature, added Siri intelligence in the keyboard, enhancements to 3D Touch, redesigned Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Control Center user interfaces, the addition of the HomeKit Home app, upgrades to the Phone, Messages, Music, Photos and Maps apps, access to the iMessage App Store, and a number of other under-the-hood performance and stability improvements.
Apple also released watchOS 3 today, which removes Glances in favor of a new Dock that users can access from the side button, and adds efficiency updates to quick reply options in Messages, a “Scribbles” feature to manually add text, improved Activity and Workouts features, an “SOS” feature for placing emergency calls through the connected iPhone, and a series of new apps and faces. The new tvOS 10 has landed on the fourth-generation Apple TV as well, including a Dark Mode option for the user interface, the ability to search movies by topics, support for simple HomeKit commands, single sign-on features for better integration with cable, automatic app downloads, improved accessibility features, and support for the updated Siri Remote app for iOS.

Stay tuned for our Instant Expert features on iOS 10, watchOS 3 and tvOS 10, filling you in on everything you need to know about the new operating systems.
