Apple has announced two new initiatives in support of U.S. National Parks, with an Apple Pay donation program providing direct financial support and an Apple Watch Activity Challenge for increasing awareness.
From Aug 24–31, Apple will be donating $1 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made with Apple Pay at any Apple Store — either retail or online — in the U.S., with proceeds going to support the Foundation’s mission to protect national parks through restoration and preservation projects as well as education programs for kids. Apple is also running a new worldwide Apple Watch Activity Challenge on Sept.
1 that will allow anybody completing a walk, run, or wheelchair workout of 50 minutes or more to earn an award and new Messages stickers inspired by National Parks. The App Store will also be highlighting a collection of some of the best apps for navigating and exploring the country’s most beautiful national parks.
