We’re big fans of Inkle’s 80 Days game on the iOS platform, and in fact it made our list of the Top Apps of 2014, so naturally we’re pretty excited to see it come to the Mac. Available on Steam, GOG, and Humble Store, 80 Days ($10) brings all of the fun of the iOS experience to the larger Mac screen, and more.

This adaptive interactive story reimagines Jules Verne’s classic Around the World in Eighty Days, putting you in the role of Passepartout, the long-suffering valet of Phileas Fogg, in an experience reminiscent of an old choose-your-own-adventure story. You’ll need to take care of your master while planning a route to circumnavigate the globe safely by whatever transportation you can find and afford, and of course you’ll need to manage your finances along the way, buying and selling items and engaging fellow travelers and folks on the street to gain information and discover new routes.

The game provides more than 169 distinct cities to visit as well as side quests and hidden subplots to discover. The Mac release takes the game even farther, adding a vast amount of new content, with 30 new cities to visit in the United States, Canada, and South America, and new quests that could take you to the lost city of Atlantis, careening over Niagara Falls, teaming up with a notorious jewel thief, or even journeying to the moon.
