Musicians rejoice! IK Multimedia has released a major update to its acclaimed guitar and bass tone studio. AmpliTube 4 ($150 – $300) provides a whole new collection of exciting new gear along with with a whole set of new features, promising the most advanced speaker cabinet selection ever developed, entirely new speaker modeling, five new British amps, a new acoustic simulator pedal, built-in 8-track DAW, and much more. In the standard version of AmpliTube, you’ll get a total of 9 amps, 10 stomp boxes, 10 cabinets, 29 vintage and modern speaker models, 3 mics, 2 rack effects, and 2 tuners, and if you’ve purchased gear for the prior version, you can still use it in AmpliTube 4 by restoring it in the Custom Shop.

Kicking it up a notch, AmpliTube 4 Deluxe ($300) adds on 100 pieces of additional gear for those who want a massive selection of creative processing options to choose from. Alternatively, users can opt for the a la carte option with AmpliTube Custom Shop — a free version of the app that lets you demo apps and purchase the specific gear you need individually.

AmpliTube’s focus on hyperrealism lets users interact with their virtual gear in a natural, real-world manner, presenting amps, cabinets, stomp boxes, and more, all with their original designs.

New features include a Cab Room that lets users mic their cabinets in a fully selectable 3D recording environment with up to two mics, customize cabinets with separate, individually modeled speakers, and play with and rearrange mics to find each speaker’s “sweet spot.” The five new classic British amp models — with matching cabinets, of course — also provide users with some of the best classic British sounds from the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, designed with AmpliTube’s newest modeling tech to precisely replicate the dynamic interaction between the power amp and the speakers. The latest version also provides a new Acoustic Sim pedal that lets you switch your electric guitar signal into a perfect acoustic guitar sound on the fly, UltraTuner for precise digital tuning, as well as a four-track MIDI-controllable recorder/looper for practice, experimental performance, or just playing around.
