We liked the look and feel of Bloop’s Airmail email client for Mac when it debuted a couple of years ago, and now Bloop is back, taking it to the next level with Airmail 2.6 for Mac ($10). The latest version adds support for OS X El Capitan, along with a totally redesigned app menu, new shortcuts, and a snooze feature akin to the now-defunct Mailbox. You can also now resize images in attachments, and a new smart unread selection helps you manage your inbox more effectively.

The update came just before the recent debut of Airmail for iOS.

Airmail continues to offer support for iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Gmail, Google Apps, Yahoo!, AOL, and Outlook.com accounts, as well as any generic IMAP or POP3 servers, and multiple accounts can be presented individually or as a unified inbox, while still allowing you to retain unique signatures for every account and alias you setup. iCloud account sync lets you keep everything matched up between multiple Macs and Airmail on your iOS devices, and Airmail offers a Today Extension for quick access to your inbox, an Action Extension to compose and send messages directly from other apps, and the ability to share messages from Airmail to any other app supporting the OS X Share Sheet, as well as providing direct sending to OmniFocus, Fantasical, Evernote, Apple Reminders, and more.

Attachments can be uploaded to Google Drive, Dropbox, CloudApp, Box, Onedrive, Droplr, or your own custom FTP server, and Airmail also supports Winmail.dat, vCalendar file previews, Exchange meeting invitations, conversation grouping, per-account notifications, and LDAP and Exchange Global Address List support for online directory services. If you’re a power user looking for an something more advanced than Apple Mail, this feature-packed mail client is definitely worth a look.
