Apple introduced three new models of its MacBook Pro at today’s event. Two of those models feature the company’s new Touch Bar, a multi-touch OLED bar which replaces the function keys and also contains a built-in Touch ID sensor. Touch Bar is essentially a thin, full-color touchscreen that can perform many functions based on software — it also offers quick access to commands, function “key” access, predictive text suggestions, and more.

The 13” MacBook Pro with Touch Bar ($1,799-$1,999) features a 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz, 8GB 2133MHz memory, 256GB or 512GB PCIe-based SSD, Intel Iris Graphics 550, and four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, which can be adapted to support power, Thunderbolt, USB, HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA with the correct dongles. The 15” MacBook Pro ($2,399-$2,799) offers a 2.6GHz or 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz or 3.6GHz, 16GB 2133MHz memory, 256GB or 512GB PCIe-based SSD, Radeon Pro 450 or 455 with 2GB memory, and the four Thunderbolt 3 ports. Optional upgrades, such as a 1 or 2TB SSD, will increase the price dramatically — when selecting all possible top-of-the-line options, the 15” Pro actually tops out at $4,299, not including any extra pre-installed software.

There’s one more MacBook Pro ($1499) model, as well — a 13” entry model that lacks the Touch Bar and Touch ID, instead coming with typical function keys. That model comes with a 2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz, 8GB 1866MHz memory, 256GB PCIe-based SSD, Intel Iris Graphics 540, and just two Thunderbolt 3 ports. All models boast improved speakers, a larger Force Touch trackpad, and a second-generation “butterfly” keyboard.
