PureGear GlassBak 360 for iPhone X

PureGear’s GlassBak 360, now updated for the iPhone X, is a case of a different sort. Eschewing the traditional one-piece protective case design, GlassBak focuses more strongly on aesthetics, combining a tempered glass back with an aluminum bumper, creating an attractive case for those who want to add a bit of protection to their iPhone X without sacrificing sleekness of style.
GlassBak 360 for the iPhone X is actually in both iPhone-matching black and silver colors, as well as an additional rose gold that will be appreciated by those who bemoaned the lack of the third color option on the iPhone X itself.

Unlike the photos shown on PureGear’s product pages, the iPhone X versions of GlassBak 360 we received thankfully omit the hole for showing off the Apple logo — it’s a matter of taste, of course, but personally we’ve always found the Apple logo hole in most cases to be more tacky than elegant. The tempered glass back adheres to the back of the iPhone X, while the bumper simply snaps around the outer edges, and it’s worth mentioning also that the two pieces don’t actually attach to each other, meaning you could choose to use one without the other.

The bumper itself provides good grip support, raised lips on the front and back, and full button coverage with nice metallic buttons. It’s a unique approach, and while it’s not the most protective case, we liked the stylish design of GlassBak 360, and it does provides at least some protection for those who don’t like the idea of hiding their shiny new iPhone X in a case.
