Golite 2.0 ($30) is a new battery/flashlight released under Zagg’s iFrogz brand. The tube-like battery pack is slightly longer than the iPhone 6’s screen, making it extremely portable. A power button near the top of the accessory turns on the flashlight, and USB and micro-USB ports can be found nearby for charging devices and recharging the battery, respectively.
Golite 2.0 a lanyard and short micro-USB cable are included, and the battery comes in seven different colors.
Golite 2.0 packs a 3000 mAh battery, which matches the capacity of many iPhone 6 cases, and its 2.1A output should ensure relatively quick recharging. Based on the performance of the included flashlight, Golite 2.0 should be considered a battery pack first and foremost — the flashlight on an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus is preferable to us. We also had an issue with the “smart” power button.
Sometimes the button would turn the flashlight on or off, and sometimes it wouldn’t. Perhaps we had a faulty unit, but we wouldn’t consider the weak, wonky flashlight a main reason for purchasing this small battery pack.
