Bluelounge’s Portiko ($25) is a 6’ extension cord with a hub at the end that includes two USB ports and two outlets — one USB port and outlet on each side of the hub. One port is actually marked “iOS,” while the other is marked “USB.” According to Bluelounge, the two USB ports share 2.4A, but only plugging an iPad into the iOS port will charge it at full speed.
Portiko ships with a magnetic plate backed with 3M tape, designed for mounting to a wall.
Apart from the long extension cord and magnetic wall plate, there are a few other clever design elements to Portiko. The extension cord’s outlet plug is at a 45-degree angle, allowing for more room to keep additional sockets available.
Also, Portiko has a curved inner section, which allows slack cable to be looped around the hub when not in use for easier storage. Many users are just fine with standard power strips, but for those looking for something a bit more user-friendly — and attractive — Portiko is worthy of consideration.
