Armadillo Gold Rush ($3) — This cute new arcade puzzler puts you in the leathery skin of an armadillo that has to roll around the Old West collecting gold and avoiding obstacles. The catch is that the little guy must always make each move in a straight line, traveling the full distance until stopped by an obstacle in his path. Over 75 unique levels ramp up the challenges, requiring your armadillo to avoid snakes, scorpions, spikes, and other dangers while working out a path that requires he get clever with bombs, tunnels, one-way doors, switches, and more.

This game has actually been a feature phone best seller for over a decade, but its debut in the App Store brings high-res graphics, touch controls, and high-quality music, sound and animation to the classic gameplay, along with 5 leaderboards, over 40 achievements, and a star system that encourages players to replay each level to collect all the gold in the fewest moves possible.

Red Bull Air Race – The Game (free) — The air racing game based on the famous Red Bull Air Race series gets a new update that introduces the 2015 Virtual World Championship. Players will be able to participate in virtual championship races that run in parallel with the real events, competing for the top spot on the leaderboards against other virtual air racers, with a prize of an all-inclusive trip to Las Vegas for the winner, a chance to meet the real world champion and a G flight in an original Red Bull Air Race two-seater.

The update also includes more planes and new custom options, along with Chiba, Japan as a new location and a full 2015 Master Class pilot line-up.

Flickr (free) — Despite the plethora of options available for cloud-based photo storage, including Apple’s own iCloud Photo Library, the venerable Flickr service remains one of the mainstays for many users, and it’s great to see Yahoo hasn’t been standing still with its iOS app. Flickr 4.0 is a major update that adds a significant facelift to the app with a timeline view that provides a vastly improved browsing, organization, and sharing experience.
