Mega-Successful, Nearly $2 Million Kickstarter Funded BLUETTI EP500/Pro Captures the Public’s Renewable Energy Attention

Mega-Successful, Nearly $2 Million Kickstarter Funded BLUETTI EP500/Pro Captures the Public's Renewable Energy Attention

Startup company BLUETTI has done an impressive Kickstarter feat yet again following its success with the AC200 in 2020. The renewable energy firm has raised a million US dollars in funding its latest home power station on Kickstarter.com in just one hour, something that only a select few has achieved on the platform.

Currently, the funding for the EP500/Pro is about to reach the $2 million mark, and with good reason- it brings a radical change to how we think about backup power solutions and off-grid energy systems.

The EP500/Pro is the latest product to come from BLUETTI. It sports a portable and minimalist form factor, seamless UPS, a maximum 3K pure sine wave inverter and a 12V 30 amp output port for camping enthusiasts and RV travelers. Having all these features can understandably drive the cost of ownership up. However, the EP500 starts only at $2,799, or 55 cents per watt hour, which is definitely competitive versus other brands, notably the Sonnencore and the Tesla Powerwall.

To further drive BLUETTI’s case, the EP500 series has a user-friendly plug-and-play procedure and offers several more input and output options for greater versatility. It’s perfect for road trips, the RV lifestyle or as a backup power station for homes.

The US-Chinese company didn’t stop there. They innovated and gave the EP500 remote control capabilities. Smart settings and the proprietary B-Lynk technology allows owners to check their EP500 or EP500/Pro’s status and even make adjustments over a Wi-Fi network or LAN connection. Checking the EP500’s battery status and inverter capacity is now just a matter of using a smartphone, regardless of location or proximity to the power station.

If a 5.1kWh/3kW component isn’t enough, BLUETTI has made chaining two EP500 units together possible with the help of its Fusion Box. Power, voltage and capacity gets doubled, which equals 240V of 6kW output and 10.2kWh capacity. Two EP500s in tandem can effortlessly power energy-hungry appliances like in-wall electric heaters, clothes dryers and air conditioners without needing to draw electricity from the grid.

BLUETTI will be responsible for both delivery and warranty for the EP500 and the EP500/Pro. The firm has recently announced that they will begin shipping EP500 to backers in May, which will continue until August, while the EP500/Pro is expected to be delivered in October.

Kickstarter backers will not have their cards charged until the product deadline. Furthermore, they can expect the EP500 and the EP500/Pro to be delivered within 3 months after the full payment goes through. Compared to the 4 month-plus waiting time on energy storage solutions from Tesla the timeframe is relatively shorter.

Kickstarter backers get a 3 month warranty as an inclusive feature. Those who want absolute peace of mind can spring for the 5 year warranty for an additional $699.

BLUETTI’s EP500 series is set to change the energy storage landscape forever by combining function, power and form in one super portable package. It’s the product to watch, especially for those who are looking to go off-grid and still be able to enjoy life’s modern conveniences and amenities. With the EP500 and the EP500/Pro, BLUETTI has catapulted itself into the company of giants, including LG Chem and Tesla.
