How Blogging Holds the Key to Higher Organic Rankings

How Blogging Holds the Key to Higher Organic Rankings

Google is like a reflex action for people these days. You need an answer to a particular question, you Google. You want to know about a place, you Google. It is the one-stop library for everyone. What that also means is no matter what website you have; you need to be up there in the search engine results pages if you want people to visit your site. And honestly, with the rat race going on, it’s tough to reach the first page.

Blogging your way to the top

One of the tricks to increase your search engine rankings is to know how to blog. Blogging can come to your rescue when your site is languishing in the second or third page of a search engine. It boosts your SEO performance to a great extent, thus helping your website slowly crawl its way to the top. When you have a website that has updated blog posts, it will make a massive difference in the overall performance of the site.

How Blogging Holds the Key to Higher Organic Rankings

Keeping the website fresh

Suppose you come across a website that’s not updated for years. Would you still want to look at the posts? You immediately seem to lose interest because you don’t trust the site anymore. Your audience will have the same response about your website if it has outdated information. In fact, Google will push your website down the list because it doesn’t encourage such lackluster performance.

Updating the website with new blogs will keep the site fresh. You may not need to change the entire content of the site, but adding new blog posts can have a positive impact on its rankings. It is a practical tool to stay in touching distance of the top spot in the search engine.

Targeting long-tail keywords

The keyword is a funny thing. It can decide the success or failure of a company. The whole point of SEO is to ensure that the keywords people search to match the ones on your website. For example, if you sell BB guns, your website should come up on top when people search with “BB guns online.” Having said that, you also need to understand that there are thousands of other companies like you who want the same thing. Hence, the rat race.

But blogs can make a difference here. You need to hit the bull’s eye when it comes to filtering specific keywords. That’s where long-tail keywords come to your rescue. People don’t merely search with “BB guns online” all the time. They may search with phrases like “where do I get the best BB guns” or “best BB guns for my kids” and things like that. You can’t use this on your website content because it deals explicitly with primary keywords. That’s when blogs can help your website reach your target audience through these long-tail keywords used in the posts. So, if you want to rank higher in a search engine, don’t keep the blog section of your website idle. It can become the ultimate weapon for your website’s success.
