Difference between Apple AI and Chat GPT

Difference between Apple AI and Chat GPT

The concept of Apple Intelligence which has been recently introduced by Apple, has come with a host of new exciting features that have enhanced user experience of those using artificial intelligence(AI).

In this blog we will examine and compare Apple Intelligence with ChatGPT, which is another popular AI driven technology that relies on cloud computing to process queries raised by users.

Difference between Apple AI and Chat GPT

Apple AI vs ChatGPT: Which AI fits your lifestyle best?

Apple AI and ChatGPT are both platforms that are reshaping the way we interact with technology these days.

Both platforms are designed to enhance interactions either through customer support or virtual assistants, but while ChatGPT is more widely used, it offers just a fraction of what Apple AI is capable of providing.

Understanding Apple AI

Apple AI, primarily embodied in SIri, is literally your fictional tool which has been designed by Apple to make life easy, all by giving just a simple command.

As a sleek-friendly interface made for you, Siri is no exception as it seamlessly integrates with Apple devices, understands phrasing and is very intuitive to engage with.

Strengths of Apple AI

The biggest charm of Apple AI is its capability to handle a variety of requests like sending emails, giving driving directions, remembering a birthday or even finding a nearby drug store.

Apple also touts this AI feature setting the standard for total privacy in AI through Private Cloud Computing. Which means Apple won’t collect user’s data which OpenAI’s ChatGPT does.

Weaknesses of Apple AI

Siri can sometimes struggle with understanding commands, especially if you speak in a different accent which can put a damper on the overall user experience.

Additionally, the limited rollout to only certain iPhone models, Macs and iPads with M-series chips, means the features won’t be available to everyone.

Enter ChatGPT: What is it?

ChatGPT, on the other hand is a product of OpenAI and is designed to generate human-like text based on the information you input. This conversational nature makes the ChatGPT experience much more personal and engaging.

Moreover, the platform excels in creative writing and problem solving scenarios, either about a problem in Physics or advice on the next book you intend to write.

Weaknesses of ChatGPT

ChatGPT also has its drawbacks as at times it misses the mark to generate coherent text as it is entirely dependent on the data it has been trained on.

So you will need to use your judgement to validate the information provided by ChatGPT when conversing with it.

Comparing the user experience of both

While both Apple AI and ChatGPT offer unique experiences, Siri is primarily designed for task execution, while ChatGPT shines when it comes to engaging discussions.

Again ChatGPT’s dynamic range of responses can keep you engaged for longer periods while interactions with Siri can feel repetitive or limited when the same information is asked for frequently.

Furthermore, ChatGPT’s output is often so human-like, it is difficult to find out what is written by a human or what is written by a computer program.

To make sure that the content you write using AI doesn’t come off as too generic and stilted, then there are tools that detect AI generated text to test a single sentence as long as 250 characters or more.

Moving forward

In its constant effort Apple is advancing its onboard AI and has also teamed up with OpenAI to leverage ChatGPT for specific user queries.

This tie-up aims to offer users the best of both worlds through privacy-focused tasks and cloud based AI for more complex queries.

So while ChatGPT is widely in use, it only has a tiny fraction of what Apple AI has to offer.
