5 Business Ideas You Can Start from Your iPhone

You don’t necessarily need a ton of money and expensive equipment to start your own businesses. There are plenty of businesses out there that have virtually no startup costs. In fact, a lot of entrepreneurs out there have started businesses using nothing more than there smartphones.

To help you to do the same, we’ve put together this list of 5 business ideas that you can start from your iPhone. Let’s dive right in!

5 Business Ideas You Can Start from Your iPhone

1. Start a Photography Business

Today’s smartphone cameras are incredibly high-quality. In fact, the iPhone X’s two 12-megapixel, wide-angle rear cameras can hold their own against professional, studio-quality photography cameras.

As such, it’s more than possible to take professional photos from your iPhone, which means you can start your own photography business. All you need to do is to learn how to take great photos and download some professional editing apps and you’re all set.

Once you’ve taken awesome photos, you can upload and sell them on stock image websites like Shutterstock directly from your phone. Alternatively, you can offer your iPhone photography skills as a service and hire yourself out for events.

2. Open an Etsy Store (or mCommerce Store)

Recent statistics show that at least 1.6 billion people shop online via their smartphones. You can set up your own online store from your smartphone and see exactly how it will look to these mobile shoppers.

Most website-building platforms are compatible with iOS devices. You could also just download the Etsy app and open your own Etsy store from your iPhone.

Of course, you’ll need to actually have something to sell on those stores too. If you’re good at art and crafts, you could make your own handmade goods and sell them on Etsy. As your business grows, you might need to start thinking about streamlining your production process and smart inventory management. There are apps that can help with that too!

3. Become an Airbnb Host

If you have a spare bedroom on your property, why not start your own Airbnb business? You can download the Airbnb app to your iPhone and set yourself up as a host in minutes.

If you live in a highly desirable area, learn how to be a great Airbnb host, and consistently impress your customers, you can make a lot of money!

4. Teach English

The ESL industry is huge. If you’re a native English speaker, there are a lot of opportunities out there for you to make money through educational businesses.

Some mobile apps, like Palfish, will pay you to teach English online via your mobile. Alternatively, you can download an app like Skype and look for students/customers yourself.

5. Monetize Your Instagram Account

A final business idea is to grow and monetize your own Instagram account. Take great photos on your mobile and learn the basics of Instagram marketing in order to grow your following.

Once you’ve reached 10,000 – 100,000 subscribers, you can start to turn it into a business by monetizing your account through sponsorship deals, paid ads, affiliate campaigns, and more.
